Photography is not a Automatic process

As a newbie, I thought a DSLR camera was all I needed to become a good photographer. When I first held the camera, I thought I would automatically capture a brilliant photo. It was my first shot that made me realize that, this is not the case. No matter what I did, the photo did not even appear to be satisfactory.

I understood, like so many crafts, photography was a craft in itself. It required imagination, planning and execution. It required me to make an effort. It required me to practice. And, it was then I realized, photography is not a automatic process.
